Social Media, Trees & Drag Queens

This past few weeks were busy ones filled with travel. I flew to Ontario, CA last Wednesday to give a workshop on Social Media to a gathering of Arborists in Riverside. “Arborists?” you say. Why yes, even Arborists are using it. It is a great way to garner support for their local programs and to offer education on the benefits of trees to the masses.

I flew back home the same evening and turned around the next morning to give another workshop on Social Media to a group of Arborists in San Rafael. I had a great time sharing the ins and outs of Facebook, WordPress, Tumblr, Twitter et.al. And in turn I learned a lot about Carbon offset and Urban Forest management plans.

On Sunday I took Amtrak into San Francisco to take photos at the San Francisco Pride parade. There was never a dull moment and I found endless photo opportunities.

I had fun playing with Slowshutter and captured the above image of a troupe of Gypsy dancers warming up for the parade.

And who can resist a beautiful Drag Queen?
